SciTS 2022 Call for Workshops

The SciTS 2022 Conference Planning Committee invites proposal submissions from individuals or groups to conduct workshops or seminars, to be held on the first day of the 2022 Science of Team Science conference, Monday, August 1, 2022. Workshops are to be half-day sessions (approximately 4 hours). 

All topics relevant to Science of Team Science approaches are welcome, including sessions focused on the practice of team collaboration as well as the study of team science.  We especially encourage workshop/seminar proposals that incorporate a variety of instructional approaches (e.g. lecture, interactive discussion, hands-on exercises) and materials (e.g. slides, handouts, sample data). 

All proposals must be submitted via email to Strand, Elizabeth Strand ([email protected]).  Proposal submissions are due by May 1, 2022, and submission acceptance notifications will be sent early June 2022. 

Submission Deadline: May 1, 2022

Workshop Proposal Content and Format

Workshop/seminar proposals should include a one-page summary that includes the following:

  • Description of workshop 

  • Statement of how the workshop will benefit conference attendees

  • Outline of proposed agenda and content

  • Outline of materials for distribution

  • Three main objectives describing the specific skills participants will gain from attending.

Submissions also should include the following information: 

  • Title of the Workshop

  • Name and email of the corresponding instructor who will be responsible for communication regarding the proposal

  • Names of all workshop/seminar instructor(s)/presenters with institutional affiliation and email address

  • Intended audience 

  • Maximum number of attendees

  • Any special A/V needs  

  • Workshop/seminar duration (3.5 hours or 6.5 hours)

The SciTS 2022 Conference will bring together thought leaders in the SciTS field, scientists engaged in team-based research, institutional leaders who promote collaborative research, policy makers, and federal agency representatives.  

A registration site will be available in March with information regarding conference registration fees and additional travel and lodging details.
